Cthulhu waits, dreaming

The ruined Cthulhu temple is finished! I'm quite happy with how it all came out, especially that my meagre sculpting skills were able to handle filling in the gaps between tiles in an adequately inconspicuous manner.

I really like the way it looks; I wasn't sure if it'd be convincing or not.

We used it this weekend in our 3rd Halflings vs Skaven Mordheim matchup and it became a focal point of the game with an objective placed near Cthulhu's ever watching eye. Considering how little topographic variety it affords, it actually was tactically quite fun to play around. There was plenty of taking partial cover behind the various chunks of rock while we took potshots at each other with slings and bows.

More images available at flickr as usual.
